Cruising-2-Racing Course

Have you sailed or skippered a 35-40 foot yacht in cruising mode for a few seasons ? and it's getting a bit samey ? Ever fancied having a go at racing, but the leap across seemed to be a challenge too far. Then read on some more. The Cruising-to-Racing course might be just what you are looking for - a platform to launching the hitherto unfound Francis Chichester in you !!! (Well maybe). After attending the course, you will be comfortable joining in the Yachts and Yachting match racing series, still with lots ahead to learn, but with a confidence to join in and contribute on that journey.

The course commences with a theoretical session based at SSC clubhouse, covering some of the background details about yacht racing. This is followed by a practical course based out of Mercury Marina, Hamble on a 37' race training yacht. To find out more about the 2026 C2R course click here.
