Boat Manoeuvring 2024

To support each other in skills development, we are all at different places in our capability, the emphasis will be on trying and making mistakes, only small ones of course !!!

Long weekend Thurs to Sunday, pick up boat Thursday evening then have Friday-8 hrs; Sat-8 hrs ; and Sunday-6hrs, 22hrs total. This development is mostly aimed at each person getting quality time on the helm:

As an indication of the activities we will be carrying out:

• Pontoon bashing, 30 minute sessions spread over the 3 days
• Manoeuvring under engine in marinas and rivers
• Onto and off anchor
• Motoring to a mooring buoy
• Person Over Board (MOB) whilst sailing on a beat and on a run
• Sailing around and to a buoy

Although the focus is on the helm, there will be learning to be had through supporting roles, observation and review.
